We are proud to announce that Cinematographer and Founder of DCS James Mathers has been awarded Best Cinematography for his work on the feature motion picture Montana Amazon Redux at the 2023 London International Film Festival. Starring Olympia Dukakis, Alison Brie, and Haley Joel Osment, the principal photography was actually completed many years ago but just recently hit the festival circuit where it has garnered much belated recognition. The movie’s Producers, DG Brock, (also Director,) and Bruce Stubblefield, both DCS members, were also honored with a Best Picture, (English Language,) award.
James shared, “The movie was shot on an early iteration of the RED camera, a good old-fashioned road movie shot in a good old-fashioned manner, without the use of the latest tools, such as Virtual Production. It probably would have been a lot easier today, but perhaps no better. We spend a lot of time here at DCS looking at motion picture technology, but at the end of the day, it is the talent of the actors and filmmakers that make a movie worth watching.” Congratulations, James, DG, and Bruce!
