Friends at Paramount Studios invited us to the Los Angeles premiere of Terminator Genisys at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood; and yes, Arnold is back. The movie also stars Emilia Clarke, (Game of Thrones’ Daenerys), Jason Clarke, (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), J.K. Simmons, (Best Supporting Actor Oscar Winner for Whiplash), and Jai Courtney, (from the Divergent Series). The film is directed by Alan Taylor who is best known as a director of high-end television including The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, and Game of Thrones.
The critics can be tough on poor Arnold, but he was perfect in this movie. However, what was much more impressive than his acting abilities was the visual effects at play in recreating scenes featuring the younger version of himself from the original Terminator along with a more current version of Schwarzenegger looking his true age of 67.
Other Tech credits including Cinematography by Kramer Morganthau, ASC were also top notch. It was a fun roller coster ride of a movie presented exquisitely in Dolby 3D and Atmos sound. If you’re going to see it, try to see it in a good theater. At the end, you may be left wondering about some divergent plot points, but you’ll probably enjoy the ride.
