ZEISS has announced the launch of CinCraft LensCore, a novel solution for creating physically based cinematic lens looks for visual effects and animation. Built on ZEISS Virtual Lens Technology and integrated as a plugin for The Foundry Nuke®, CinCraft LensCore bridges on-set lens choices and VFX/post-production:
• Ray-traced, GPU-accelerated engine that simulates authentic lens behavior per pixel and per frame
• One-click digital lens looks with realistic bokeh, defocus, distortion, vignetting and other optical effects
• Digital lens shelf to load ZEISS or custom lens profiles, compare looks quickly, and standardize across sequences and teams
• Ability to recreate real lenses or design entirely new looks that remain grounded in real optical physics
• All driven by true optical parameters: focus, T-stop, focal length, focus distance
• Inpaint feature that fills occluded areas behind defocused objects, reducing complex 3D setups and speeding up workflows
CinCraft LensCore will be available worldwide via the CinCraft webshop starting June 1, 2026, with the option for multiple licenses.
