Walt Martin, Oscar Nominated Sound Mixer for Clint Eastwood Passed Away July 24th

Walt MartinDCS mourns the loss of longtime member Walt Martin who worked with Clint Eastwood on 14 films receiving an Oscar nomination on Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers.  Walt worked on more than 70 films over the course of his 41-year career, most recently with Eastwood on American Sniper and Jersey Boys.

 

 

Walt’s collaboration with Eastwood started on True Crime (1999) and continued through Space Cowboys (2000), Blood Work (2002), Mystic River (2003), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Letters From Iwo Jima (2006), Changeling (2008), Gran Torino (2008), Invictus (2009), Hereafter (2010) and Trouble With the Curve (2012).

 

 

He passed away July 24 at the age of 69 after being hospitalized for chest pains, survived by his wife Elena and step-daughter, Claudia. A memorial will take place on Sept. 6 at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills.
