Two DCS Events at Cine Gear Expo — New Cine Lenses and Field Recording Options

Cine Gear Expo returns to Los Angeles on May 30th-June 2nd, once again at the historic studios at Paramount Hollywood. This year, the Digital Cinema Society will host two separate events, one covering the latest developments in Cine Lenses, the other on the many new Field Recording Options now available.

Focus On Cine Lenses — Friday, May 31st
2:15pm – 3:30 pm in the Sherry Lansing Theater

For our panel on Cine Lenses, companies invited to participate include, (in alphabetical order): Angenieux, Canon, Cooke, Fujinon, Leica, Schneider Optics, and Zeiss/ARRI. We’ll examine their new products including several new Anamorphics. We will also discuss the challenges of creating quality lenses suitable to various cameras while resolution and coverage area keep increasing at the same time that camera prices are falling.

New Digital Field Recording Options — Saturday, June 1st. 1:45pm – 2:45pm: Screening Room #5

Our Cine Gear Expo event will look at New Digital Field Recording Options from companies including, (in alphabetical order), AJA, AstroDesign, Codex, Convergent Design, Panasonic, Sound Devices, and Sony. In a guided panel discussion we’ll examine their products, new features and capabilities such as 4:4:4, 4K, and RAW recording options.

Cine Gear Exhibition and Premiere Seminars run Friday, May 31, 2013 – Hours: 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2013 – Hours: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the Film Series on Thursday, May 30, 2013 – Hours: TBD. Master Class Seminars are scheduled for Sunday, June 2, 2013 – Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (various Hollywood locations).
