Tiffen has announced that their new 3-Axis electronically assisted camera stabilizer is now shipping. The system incorporates the patented Steadicam Volt technology, augmented with a third pan motor for even more precise camera control. 3-axis assisted stabilization allows the operator to directly control the framing of the shot without feeling disconnected from the camera like in other fly by wire systems. The new 3-Axis Volt allows for a shallow learning curve to achieve high quality camera movement, with faster set up times and greater range of movement over current electronic gimbal systems. With a payload capacity of up to 20 lbs (9kg) when paired with a Steadicam A-30 Arm & Vest, the Steadicam Axis offers cinema quality shots at a more affordable price compared to their higher capacity rigs. Steadicam Axis, complete with Sled/Volt, A-30 Arm and A-30 Vest is available now in versions for Gold or V-mount batteries at $8995 list.
