As usual, AJA brings a lot of innovation to show off at NAB, both hardware and software. They will be unveiling a number of updates including for BRIDGE LIVE IP, IP25-R v2.0, OG-GEN10, and Desktop v18 software for SMPTE ST 2110 and openGear Solutions.
BRIDGE LIVE IP
Bridge Live IP is AJA’s new high-density IP video gateway purpose-built for 10/25 GigE SMPTE ST 2110 workflows. Ideal for multi-channel video contribution, remote production, and streaming, it solves a critical market gap for hybrid IP workflows, enabling users to seamlessly bridge between compressed IP streaming media and uncompressed SMPTE ST 2110 infrastructures. The device packs flexible encoding, decoding, transcoding, and frame-rate conversion capabilities into a 1RU, supporting up to four channels of UltraHDp60 or eight channels of 1080p60 HD. H.262, H.264, H.265, MPEG-TS, HLS, RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT are all supported, and optional licenses for NDI, JPEG XS, and JPEG 2000 are available.
New Firmware Update for IP25-R v2.0
Coming soon will be the latest free v2.0 firmware update for the IP25-R SMPTE ST 2110 converter delivering a new Tx mode for 12G-SDI to ST 2110 conversion, adding to the device’s existing ST 2110 to 12G-SDI receive mode. It also expands Rx mode channel counts from four to six streams for more efficient, cost-effective conversions. Up to three IP25-R units can fit in a single 1RU for up to 18 channels of ST 2110 to 12G-SDI/HDMI conversion or 12 channels of 12G-SDI to ST 2110/HDMI conversion.
openGear OG-GEN10 HD/SD Sync Generator
An openGear-compatible HD/SD/AES-11 sync generator, OG-GEN10 is engineered to deliver reliable timing synchronization for broadcast, production, post, and proAV workflows. Building on AJA’s GEN10 Mini-Converter, OG-GEN10 expands output capacity while adding redundant power and remote configuration via Ross DashBoard software. Featuring nine HD/SD reference outputs and one AES-11 output, it supports simultaneous HD tri-level and SD sync generation, with flexible control over HD formats and SD color black or color bars.
Desktop v18 Software with New Feature Improvements
Also coming very soon for AJA Desktop I/O users running Mac, Windows, and Linux (Ubuntu and Rocky) is Desktop Software v18 delivering feature improvements and fixes. It brings 10-bit RGBA support to AJA Corvid 44 and Corvid 88 cards for developers, enabling more seamless downstream keying in live production for graphics overlays and video switching. Expanding the available bandwidth for AJA KONA X and KONA XM users, the update also enables simultaneous capture and playout of two channels of up to 1080p60 streams. AJA Desktop I/O customers on Mac also gain support for Avid OpenIO SDK integration, and AJA’s macOS DriverKit Extension (DEXT).
