The Digital Cinema Society has once again held our popular examination of the Cinema Lens market at Cine Gear Expo with a concentration on choosing the right lenses to invest in. We explored what’s new from some of the top lens manufacturers and how they are reacting to the latest trends such as growing sensor sizes, choosing character vs. optical perfection, metadata, anamorphic cinematography and more. This event was recorded on June 2nd, in a screening room on the Paramount backlot during Cine Gear Expo 2023.  DCS Founder James Mathers served as moderator and participating manufacturers included, (in alphabetical order): Angénieux, ARRI, Cooke, Fujinon, Infinity Photo-Optical, Leitz, Sigma, Tokina, and ZEISS.  Our volunteer crew consisted of Cinematographers Cameron Cannon and Jon Tucker with Christopher Scott Knell handling sound and post production.
