The full streaming coverage of our annual DCS Cinema Lighting Expo is still in the post production oven, but we do have one interesting presentation available to view now.  This coverage features Panasonic’s Doug Leighton and Taka Mitsui giving an update on the VariCam, and in particular, their slimmed down new model LT. It also combines a fun demo where James Mathers, with the directing help of Victor Goss, ASC, show off some of the attributes of the VariCam at 5000ASA.

We would like to acknowledge not only Panasonic, JL Fisher, Mole Richardson, DADCO, BBS, and Hollywood Rentals who provided gear for the demo, but also our many volunteer DCS crew members including Event Producer David Mahlmann, Cinematographers Cameron Canon, Sean Murray, Cricket Peters, Dwight Lay, and Mitch Gulbin, as well as for audio recording and post production, the versatile Christopher Scott Knell.  Our on camera talent was Amber Marie Townsend, and test footage was provided by Cinematographer Dan Kneece. Thanks also to IATSE Local 80 for providing the venue for this event.

The coverage is now available to view on the DCS New Streaming page:  www.digitalcinemasociety.org/new-streaming-videos
