SIGMA has announced the addition of two new zooms to their line, the 10-18mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary, an ultra-wide compact zoom for APS-C cameras, and the 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports, a large-aperture zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The 10-18mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is said to be the smallest and lightest F2.8 ultra-wide zoom lens for APS-C format mirrorless camera systems. It features high-speed autofocus with HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), an optical stabilizer with the latest algorithm “OS2”, and superior weather resistance. It employs an aspherical concave lens with a large polarization ratio and high refractive index in the first group, reducing the number of elements in the first group and shortening the overall length. The hood has been made both thinner and smaller, which also contributes to the overall compactness of the lens. At around 9 ounces, the 10-18mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary makes for a compact and versatile F2.8 system for APS-C cameras for use in both stills and motion photography. Available mounts include the L-Mount, Sony E-mount and Fujifilm X Mount. The lens will be available through authorized retailers on October 26, 2023 for $599 US. Also coming soon from SIGMA is their 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports, a large-aperture zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Owing to the latest optical design, this lens is designed to offer a high level of performance for professionals in both still and motion photography. Features include high-speed autofocus with HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), an optical stabilizer with the latest algorithm “OS2”, and the superior weather resistance of SIGMA’s Sports line. This lens will launch in December 2023 in L-Mount and Sony E-mount.
