GoPro’s newest and smallest camera, the “Hero 4 Session”, will be available next week at $399US. It’s cube-shaped and measures less than 1.5 inches a side, shoots 1440p at 30fps, 1080p up to 60fps, and 720p at up to 100fps. It’s waterproof up to 10 meters without any additional housing.
Even at it’s small size, the Session has two microphones — one on the front, and one on the back — and it dynamically switches between them to reduces wind noise. It only has one button on the camera, but can be controlled and monitored via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The simplicity of on-camera control helps to extend battery life, which many felt was a previous issue for the GoPro line.
