Less than a week after dropping out of the bidding for Warner Bros/Discovery, Netflix has announced the acquisition of InterPositive, a filmmaker-led production technology company founded by Ben Affleck that develops AI-powered tools built by and for filmmakers. InterPositive’s stated mission is to use new technology to protect, not replace, creative choice – and to expand what’s possible on set, in post, and across the whole production process. By bringing InterPositive’s entire team into Netflix through this acquisition, and with Affleck joining as Senior Advisor, Netflix’s stated intention is to continue investing in creator-led innovation that keeps filmmakers at the center of the process.
