Claimed as the World’s First 2x Front Anamorphic Zoom series, Laowa has introduced the Sunlight Zooms. They are two lenses, 40mm-80mm and 70mm-135mm, T4.5 with a constant 2x squeeze. There is a choice of four Cinematic Flare Options from classic sci-fi blue, warm amber to evoke nostalgia, adaptable silver for dynamic color play, or elegant clear for clean light transmission. The lens flare ring clearly indicates the selected color, ensuring effortless creative adjustments on set. The calibrated parfocal design keeps focus consistent throughout the entire zoom range, and there is an integrated back focus adjustment to ensure optimal performance across various camera systems. Both lenses feature a 10 blade iris for smooth oval bokeh and focus breathing is said to be minimal.

The standard mount is ARRI PL with options for Sony E, Canon RF, Nikon Z, and L mount. This versatile zoom range and unique front anamorphic design at an affordable price will make full frame 2x anamorphic cinematography more accessible to a wider group of filmmakers. Separately, each lens has a suggested retail price of US$5,999 and US$10,999 for a bundle with both lenses.
