DZOFILM has announced that the X-tract 18-28mm T8 FF Probe Zoom Lens is now available for purchase. This major innovation in macro filmmaking combines the flexibility of an 18-28mm focal range with the precision and cinematic quality of a professional probe lens. The X-tract is waterproof, dustproof, and has an anti-fog design, with DZOFILM claiming extremely controlled focus breathing and parfocal abilities. The T8 aperture is actually relatively fast for a probe lens, and the 18-28mm focal length provides a good 73 to 100° field of view range. The lens also has multi-layer anti-reflective coating and low-dispersion lens elements to cut down on flaring and chromatic aberration. The X-tract weighs about 2.4 lbs with much of that weight in the rear of the lens to cut down on vibrations. The front outside diameter is less than 1.2” to help it fit in narrow spaces.

The X-tract boasts a 2.1:1 maximum magnification ratio and a 0.24” minimum focus distance with as little as ±2% optical distortion across the zoom range and virtually zero distortion when the lens is at 24mm. 90 and 360° periscope lens versions will be available separately. The X-tract is only available in PL mount, but DZOFILM offers a wide variety of mount adapters that can help the lens fit on your camera of choice.

Key Features include:

• Versatile Zoom Range: 18-28mm focal length for both wide-angle and ultra-close shots.
• Cinematic Image Quality: Constant T8 aperture and advanced optical design for sharp, clear images with minimal distortion and flaring.
