Dedolight California Announces New Colorist Panel Multi-Color 1’x1′ LED, ZOOM for the Prolycht Orions, and Bridge System for Heavy Optical Accessories

Dedolight California has announced several new innovative products.  Let’s start with the Colorist panel, a professional-grade portable 1’x1′ multi-spectrum light that combines 576 diodes across both RGB and warm/cool white LEDs. The Colorist is designed to deliver a powerful output with advanced color flexibility and spectral fidelity.  It features a Green/Magenta adjustment and balances a wide CCT range (2700K – 10,000K) with RGB capabilities for any hue or effect. It is controlled on-board or via a user-friendly mobile app (with extended FX functions) and has multiple power options. Its size and power consumption make it valuable for on-the-fly field use or as an affordable contribution to a studio with its on-board DMX connection, wireless light grouping and color picking through the Light Link app. Rugged aluminum frame and a fan-free passive cooling system make it durable, versatile, and silent. The Colorist is currently available for US$455.00 including a four-leaf barn door, snap-on magnetic diffusion, power supply, and soft case, and a 3x multi-color 1’x1′ kit goes for US$1,759.00.

Dedolight’s famous optics are now available in a Zoom lens for the Orion fixtures, both the 675 FS and 300 FS. While the standard Prolycht fresnel zoom for the 675 tightest spot is 15º (50º flood), this Dedolight Zoom lens (non-fresnel) achieves a super-spot twice narrower both on the Orion 675 FS (6.9º spot to 33º flood) and on the 300 FS (8.5º spot to 35º flood). The 4-section barrel rotates smoothly to achieve any beam angles within the specified focus range. At its tightest spot, the most impressive setting, the 675 FS set at 5600k outputs 9197 fc at 2m (99,000 lux). With less than half the power draw, also at 5600k, the Orion 300 FS output is only 20% less than its big brother: 7528 fc (81,000 lux). This super-spot shows some ring anomalies and is best suited to work with reflectors such as Dedolight-brand Lightstream, or to produce a powerful, xenon-like, narrow beam to achieve a longer throw. It is highly recommended to use the DZOOM-P to help clean up ring anomalies. Meanwhile, Prolycht has improved the Bowens mount to a proprietary “ProLock” mechanism to be compatible with the high-end optics. This modified mount does not have any play so that the front-end accessories stay perfectly in place and does not droop nor wobble. Importantly, it also ensures that the optical center of Dedo’s accessories remains precisely in line with the COB light source. The ZOOM, despite its size, is still compatible with the 300 FS standard Bowens S mount.

Dedolight California has also announced that ProCali has developed a bridge system to help support heavy optical accessories, including the new ZOOM lens, for Orion300 users. It is a custom-build made for users of the Orion 300 FS unit who want a bit more security when using heavier dedolight optics. The system, with its brackets, mounts onto the existing feet of the Orion 300 FS without requiring any tools or modification to the light. The bridge slides and locks along 15mm diameter rods to provide mechanical support to front accessories. The central support post is adjustable in height by 1.5″ to accommodate various optics’ diameters. This system protects the front of the Orion 300 FS by removing some of the stress to the Prolycht Bowens mount. It is recommended for the DP400 Prolycht version projectors, the DPBA-14-P beam intensifier and especially the latest DZOOM-P. This hardware kit also includes a set of 8 spring washers selected to improve the original Yoke friction and facilitate locking.
