We are sad to report the passing of Jacques Haitkin, a longtime DCS member who had been active in our Northern California chapter. Jacques was a noted cinematographer who had developed a specialty of shooting Action Unit on major motion pictures such as three Fast & Furious films, two Captain America movies, and features including Cherry 2000 (1987), Last Man Standing (1995), The Expendables (2010), X-Men: First Class (2011), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Black Panther (2018), Venom (2018) and 21 Bridges (2019). He is probably best remembered, however, for the classic horror pictures he photographed earlier in his career including the first two Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Haitkin passed away at the age of 72 on March 21st in San Francisco after a battle with ALS and leukemia.
