The introduction of Canon’s new EOS C300 Mark III Cinema Camera brought with it the Dual Gain Output (DGO) Sensor. However, this innovation, while significantly improving dynamic range and still keeping noise to an acceptable level has been misunderstood.  In this video, Canon’s Paul Hawxhurst goes into detail about the DGO sensor technology and how it is able to facilitate over 16 stops of dynamic range.
