Blackmagic Design has announced Blackmagic Camera for iOS 3.3 Update. This new update adds camera control and monitoring with Apple Watch, support for ATEM camera control, and support for Blackmagic Focus and Zoom Demands. This allows for situations where an iPhone is mounted out of reach as it allows start and stop recording, as well as the ability to monitor the shot. To set up, simply install the companion app through the Watch app on an iPhone.
This update also adds support for ATEM camera control when using Blackmagic Camera with Blackmagic Camera ProDock. This allows for tally, video and camera control when a ProDock is connected to an ATEM Mini switcher, transforming an iPhone into a studio camera.
In addition, Blackmagic Camera can use Blackmagic Zoom and Focus Demands when connected to Blackmagic Camera ProDock. This allows broadcast style lens control the ability to frame and adjust a shot without taking the operator’s hands off the tripod handles. There is also support for full screen portrait mode HDMI output, front camera support for portrait and landscape orientations without rotation on iPhone 17 and support for ProRes RAW stabilization in iOS 26.1 and above.
