Blackmagic Announces Major Price Reduction on Full Frame 6K Cameras

by | Sep 5, 2026 | News | 0 comments

Blackmagic has announced a reduction in the price of Blackmagic PYXIS 6K models and Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K by over US$1,000. According to Blackmagic, these lower prices have been made possible by securing better pricing on parts. This means full frame 6K digital film cameras are now more affordable, which is great if you’re in the market to buy one, but not such good news if you already own such a camera.

These models feature a sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032 allowing for shallow depth of field or use of anamorphic lenses un-cropped. They also feature dual native ISO up to 25,600 and the ability to shoot up to 36 fps at full sensor resolution or 120 fps windowed. The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K and Cinema Camera 6K can shoot in all standard resolutions and frame rates from HD up to DCI 4K as well as 6K. Mount choices include L-Mount, EF or PL.

The new prices are listed below:
Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K has been reduced from US$2,715 to US$1,595.
Blackmagic PYXIS 6K L has been reduced from US$3,080 to US$1,995.
