ACES Logo FullColor WhiteThe SMPTE has graciously made their latest educational presentation on ACES available to view on the web.  In this fairly technical webcast, Walter Arrighetti, the CTO of Frame by Frame, and Francesco Giardiello, a Workflow Supervisor and DIT review current ACES terminology, color-science and workflows.  The webcast, led Joel E. Welch, SMPTE Director of Education also features real-world experiences of the participants including a description of an ACES use-case for a theatrical production from on-set to post-production and visual effects (VFX) to delivery.

Steve Tobenkin who moderates ACEScentral.com points out that although this is a moderately technical dive into the subject, many users will not need to get “into the weeds” to actually use ACES.  DCS members are encouraged to join the Forum at ACEScentral.com to comment and ask questions.
